Inca Jungle was born in Cusco, the way most things worth doing in this part of the world begin: with a deep knowledge of the landscape, a genuine love for the route, and a conviction that the journey to Machu Picchu deserved to be more than a train ticket and a guided walk through a crowded citadel.<\/p>

Our founders grew up in the Cusco region. They know the Abra M\u00e1laga descent not from a brochure but from having ridden it dozens of times in different seasons, in different conditions, and with travelers from every corner of the world. They know where the cloud forest trail opens to reveal the first view of Machu Picchu across the valley. They know which section of the Urubamba River runs fastest after the rains and which pool at Cocalmayo stays warmest through the afternoon. This knowledge is not something you acquire from research. It is something you accumulate from years of being present in a landscape and paying attention to it.<\/p>

What started as a small operation running a handful of departures per month has grown into one of the most trusted adventure tour operators on the Inca Jungle route. The size has changed. The approach has not. Every departure is led by a guide who was trained on this specific route, carries emergency equipment, and understands that the people in their group have traveled a long way and are trusting them with one of the most significant travel experiences of their lives.<\/p>

    Our base is in Cusco, the historic capital of the Inca Empire and the starting point for the Inca Jungle route. Our office is in the city center, within walking distance of the main plaza, and our team is available in person, by phone, and by WhatsApp from early morning until late evening on every day of the year including weekends and public holidays.<\/p>

    The route we operate covers the corridor between Cusco and Machu Picchu via the Abra M\u00e1laga Pass, the Urubamba River canyon, and the cloud forest of the upper Amazon basin.       We are a Cusco company. Not a company based in Lima with operations in Cusco. Not an international booking platform that subcontracts to local operators. Every sol we earn stays in the region where our guides live, where our support staff raise their families, and where the communities along the route depend on tourism as their primary source of income.<\/p>

      This matters because it means that when you book with Inca Jungle you are not contributing to a chain of intermediaries that extracts value from the place you are visiting.
