OVERVIEW<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>

The zipline section of the Inca Jungle route is the shortest activity of the four days and the one that produces the most noise. It does not take long. It does not require any skill or preparation. What it does is give you a few seconds of genuine flight over the cloud forest canopy at a speed and from a perspective that your body has absolutely no frame of reference for.<\/p>

The lines are rigged above the forest in the valley between Santa Teresa and Aguas Calientes, running from elevated platforms on the hillside across the canopy below and out over the river canyon in sections. The views from the platforms are already impressive before you clip in. Once you push off, they become something else entirely.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

      The zipline course consists of multiple lines of varying lengths, rigged at different heights above the forest floor and the river canyon below. Some lines run parallel to the hillside with the forest spreading out beneath you. Others cross the canyon with open air below and the river visible far down in the gorge. The longest lines give you enough time to stop thinking about what you are doing and simply look at the landscape around you, which is when the experience shifts from exciting to genuinely extraordinary.<\/p>

      The equipment is checked and fitted by certified operators before every session. The harness, the trolley system, the braking mechanism, and the anchor points at both ends of each line are all inspected as standard procedure. The operators talk you through the position and the landing before your first line so that the mechanics are clear before you are in the air.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

        Do not look down from the platform before your first line. Look out at the horizon instead. Your brain processes height differently when there is a reference point in the distance and the experience is significantly more enjoyable from the first line onward.<\/p>

        Wear closed shoes with a secure fit. Sandals and loose footwear are not permitted on the zipline course.<\/p>
